Well hello there, How have you been?
I hope my article finds you well. My week has been quite an eventful one. I had to take a 10 day break from work to sort out a family issue that I had not accounted for. Well I guess I might as well spill the beans and let you in on what happened.
I was called upon by some family members to finish off some finial loose ends of a particular family member who had decided to go away on what was suppose to be a 3 day holiday and vocation that ended up turning into them relocating to another country not wanting to come back to the UK. They had decided that they were loving what they were seeing and experiencing and just decided out of the blue they weren’t coming back.
I know what some of you are thinking “That is just share craziness”. And you know what? That would have been my first initial thought say 10 years ago, but as time has gone by I have come to understand that it is very important to the human being or nature to deep down be involved or engage in doing life in what really matters and what really makes you happy. I know we all know this or have come across the statement before but if we are not actively working towards making that reality happen for our lives then somewhere along the way we’ll end up emotionless and mentally worn down.
So going back to my family member, he was 30 no girlfriend, no wife and no kids so really he had nothing to loose to embrace a new adventure and life in another country. And try to curve out for himself more time and freedom doing what he is most passionate about.
Now I am not saying that we all should now jump ship across a whole continent to create more freedom and time out of life. I have been self-employed some would like to call it an entrepreneur, it’s true entrepreneur does sounds more sexy. There is actually a difference something I will share with you in another article.
I’ve been an entrepreneur for the last 10 years and I have to tell you that being in this bracket status has allowed me to earn more than I could have ever earned in a 9-5 job and has given me the quality freedom of life I had longed for with myself, family and friends.
Now I am not saying that all those in a 9-5 job are just down right terrible people of course not, we all have to work we need the money. Last time I checked money still makes the world go round. But what I am saying is that if you are a person who is that way incline to spend their time doing what they love with whoever they want and where ever they want. Then the entrepreneurial road is the number one way to achieve that goal.
So how can we start creating the money to enable us the time to create the freedom and life to live the life that we so desire. I have been doing this for the last 10 years so I am going to share with you some ways you can start creating the freedom out of life that you want.
So How Can We Create More Freedom Out Of Our Lives?
I am not able to share it all here in this article but I will be sharing it over a period of weeks to help you get started on creating your dream life and reality.
One method that has helped me to create a steady income as an entrepreneur and has allowed many of my clients to quit their 9-5 or go part-time into the entrepreneurial journey is starting a business in what you love and are passionate about.
Making Money Doing What You Love
I personally love writing, it’s been my love affair for the last 10 years and has blossomed into a romantic relationship for the last 5 years. But did you know that you can make a tidy income writing for a living?
Yes you can.
I have been and I have showed many of my clients how to do just that. So here’s how you can get started.
Introduction To The World Of Online Journaling
Blogging and social networking are inextricably linked in the sense that both contain certain features and certain properties of one another. Both are aimed at creating a wide movement as far as multimedia interaction is concerned. Though it is true that blogs can be regulated and kept very private, the main purpose of them is to reach out to a number of people, to have a medium a place where you can voice your opinion.
Another similarity is that both these concepts have existed in cyber space for almost a decade now, but in the initial stages both were rather exclusive of one another. Only in the recent times have they been merged, and their similarity in motives truly recognised.
Blogging is essentially done to channel your thoughts out on to an online journal. You also want other people to read what you have written.
This way, you go about coming in touch with people from all over the world who you would not have otherwise known. Similar is the function of social networking. It is a hub where the young and the hearty flock. The chances of getting an audience at such a platform are high.
My 13 year Daughter asked me the other day. “Mum how can I make more friends?” I said to her start a blog and so she did.
The origination of the term ‘blog’ is interesting. It was initially called a ‘weblog’ meaning a log or a diary or a journal that helps you to record your thoughts on a day to day basis. In that sense it was rather in its primitive stages and did not turn into an instrument for propaganda immediately. This term was later shortened to blog and this is when free blogging services like Blogger became extremely popular.
As mentioned earlier, blogging today is not restricted to only maintaining a journal. It has truly become a platform where various kinds of people from all walks of life, whether they have the same ideologies or not, conflate, and discuss the matters they think are important to them.
Blogging today has come to become an important tool for advertising for people who wish to market their products online, for politicians who wish to sell their ideologies, and reach out, to the masses or for creatives sharing their wacky world of wonder
What I love about blogging is that creating a blog and maintaining it does not require a fortune or you to be a tech genius. Everybody and their mother now has a personal blog and wait for it, it’s all free of cost. Also, one does not need to be a computer engineer or a graphic or web designer in order to embellish their blog.
Unlike a website which operates on a different domain, and for which every single template and tab needs to be designed and created from the scratch, blog sites do not need such knowledge. The blogging service providers have their own inbuilt templates and fonts which have to be chosen by the bloggers as per their own tastes and preferences.
There are many ways you can personalise your blog on platforms such as WordPress, but again I will explain more about that in latter articles.
Blogging is an ideal way to make new friends and come in contact with more people than you can do in the actual word, from all quarters of the world. Such diverse people will obviously have differing viewpoints. Therefore, this gives scope for a good deal of discussion and debate with all points of view being taken on board.
Blogs can also be for the sole purpose of making new friends and socialising. That is why social networking sites have picked up the clue and in these times social networking and blogging has, to some extent, been combined, and almost become indistinguishable.
It would be interesting to note that the word ‘blog’ is both a noun and a verb. This leads us to the fact that blogging in some sense also helps get rid of hassles of publishing. Though your work will not come out in print, you know that you can publish your work – your articles, pictures, videos, etc – yourself through you blog.
Therefore, it may be your own personal journal that you wish others to read or you works of art in terms of the stories or articles that you write, or the movies that you make. You can share almost any content with the world at large.
It must also be noted that just like you do not have to be a web designer to create your own blog, you need not be a professional writer, a film maker or a photographer to publish content on your blog. It is just a space for you to indulge in your own small artistic pursuits and share those moments with others. Blogging must therefore be exploited to its full potential.
I hope I have got your feet wet a little and a sneak into my world and what I get up to as an entrepreneur and the CEO and founder of Richible.
